London, UK (PRWEB UK) 30 April 2013
CanvasPop, the webs most innovative provider of quality canvas prints, announced today that it would begin shipping to the EU. The company, which sets itself apart by its craftsmanship, dedication to impeccable customer service, and unique ability to work with low resolution and mobile photos, will now ship to 27 countries in the EU in addition to Canada and the US.
CanvasPop, which has its roots in social printing, was the first company to integrate with Instagram and Facebook to print photos on canvas. With more than 300 million photos uploaded to the social networks every day, the social photography trend shows no signs of slowing down.
In a world of mass produced products, personalised photo gifts have become very popular. Every month in the UK alone, there are more than 40,000 online searches made for personalised gifts.
The European expansion will give CanvasPop the largest global footprint among our direct competitors, including even larger players like CafePress and Shutterfly, who arent able to do this as efficiently as us, said Adrian Salamunovic, Co-founder of CanvasPop. Our focus in on differentiating through our innovative technology, leading brand, and outstanding customer service. We feel like were in a strong position to compete and thrive in the European market.
There has been a dramatic increase in the number of consumers in Europe who report that their phone is their primary device for capturing photos. 2011 saw a 40% increase over 2009 in the UK alone, where 12% of smartphone owners prefer their phone to their digital camera. There is a need in the European market for mobile photo printing services, and CanvasPops ability to enlarge and print low resolution photos answers that call.
CanvasPop was an early mover into the mobile photo printing space, and theres a lot of demand for mobile photo printing in Europe that is simply not being met, said Nazim Ahmed, Co-founder of CanvasPop. Weve received increasing demand from Europeans for us to deliver there, and we are answering that call.
While there has been a shift towards mobile photography, the size of the consumer photo printing industry continues to grow as a whole, increasing at a rate of 21% according to IBISWorld research. InfoTrends estimated that in 2012 Western European consumers would capture more than 63 billion photos. The survey showed that roughly 50% of these images, were considered priceless and impossible to replace if they are lost giving consumers incentive to transform digital memories into long-lasting canvas prints.
The European market is not entirely new to CanvasPop, whose sister company, DNA 11, has been shipping internationally since 2005.
